Inspired by Oulipo, the workshop of potential literature, Overheard began as recorded conversations with approximately 12 poets/authors. Each recording was edited into several clips ranging from 1 to 10 words. The clips were put in a playlist and played on shuffle for five minutes. Using charcoal on canvas, I spent the duration of the audio attempting to transcribe everything I heard.
