Inspired by interviews with a homeowner in north west Philadelphia, part 1 of Infinity careful what you call things introduces a live performance into the sound installation to explore what it means to be “sheltered” in one’s own skin.
During the performance I covered my skin with clay and spent the duration of the audio standing in the planter. Over the course of 20 minutes the clay dried; creating a protective, restrictive and fragile second skin.
